Saturday we had the alarm set for 4:30 AM so that we could get to the airport for an 8:30 flight.  DiDi woke me up at 2:20 so I let her out and noticed that there was a message on my phone saying that our flight was cancelled. When BJ woke up about an hour later, I told her that American had rebooked us on a flight to Phoenix at noon and then Phoenix to Philly leaving at 10:30 PM and arriving Philly at 6 AM.  We would have then had a 16 hour layover in Philly before again getting on a red-eye to London.  BJ called and they scheduled us to leave at around 11 to go through Atlanta and on to Philly on Delta, so we got to Philly a little later than we would have originally, but got a good night’s sleep.

Sunday a leisurely morning and then took the train from the airport to Jefferson Station and Reading Market, where we had a brunch of a South Philly Cheese Steak ssandwich and a crab cake sandwich followed by cannoli. Then we caught a cab to the Barnes Museum, where we looked at one man’s collection of Renoirs, Matisse, and other late 19th century and early masterpieces including many Picassos intermingled with El Grecos and 18th century New Mexican works by santeros.  Strange organization.  Incredible collection.  Then back to the airport to hang out till our 10PM flight.  We left 1/2 hour late and still arrived in London early because of a good tailwind.  We got checked in and napped a bit and then had dinner.  I watched a Portuguese league soccer game and then we crashed.

We got up early so that we could get to the airport for our Prague flight and everything was uneventful.  We arrived in Prague and were met by our driver, David.  He is a Brit who has lived here for 27 years.  He speaks little or no Czech and actually has a dispensation from Vaclav Havl to not speak Czech. He gave us a quick tour and then took us to the apartment, which he manages.  He then took off to Bari, Italy with his wife to go on vacation riding Harleys.  BJ napped and I wandered around the city a little, starting to get oriented and scouting out tomorrows meeting point.  On my wanderings, I saw several restaurants and we went back to one of them tonight for dinner.  U Cernoveho Kola (At the red wagon wheel) was rated in the top 10% of the restaurants in Prague.  It was in what looked like an old home with only a few tables in each room, so it was quiet.  Fairly traditional Czech food and it was really good.  We split an appetizer of liver pate and I had a bowl of a potato soup.  Then BJ got a freshwater fish called Zander and I had roasted 1/4 duck with red cabbage and dumplings.  Everything was delicious and despite being listed as $$$$, the check came to about $52 including the wine and beer. We’ll give it a good review on Trip Advisor.  We’re going to bed now.
