Up early again this morning so we could see Cape Horn as we sailed by. It is quite a rocky island with the rocks extending outward. Those were what caused to cause the shipwrecks. Very stark. The wind was very strong, 40 knots or more, and at one point we had trouble opening the balcony door. The ship was listing to one side and made walking interesting, to say the least. We reached 56 degrees 3 minutes South latitude at our farthest south. That seems way down there but, as Alan pointed out, the adage 54-40 or fight, referred to the northern border between Canada and the US. We did get down into the Drake Passage for a while. Since getting into the Atlantic, we have had 7 ½ to 14 foot seas and gale force winds of 40 knots or more.

Otherwise, with an at sea day, nothing much going on except laundry day. We did have a dress-up night for dinner, but that just means a coat and tie. And we got to have chocolate covered strawberries as a snack.
