Fast flight to Amsterdam
Today Prague cried because we were leaving. It rained for the first time since we arrived! David, our landlady’s rep. was a little late because Prague drivers do strange things in the rain, but we got to the airport with plenty of time to spare. I (BJ) have been ordering wheelchairs in all the airports since I seem to make a habit of falling on the terrazzo floors airports all have. This has been zipping us through security lines with little hassle. We reached our gate with plenty of time to go get a last Czech meal. Alan had goulash soup with a Pilsner beer and I had a sausage with a fresh pretzel and fresh horseradish. Sorry, KLM, but this was lots better than the snack you offered.
We arrived in Amsterdam in a little over an hour, retrieved luggage, and met out Taxi Electric driver with little problem. We used this same service last year when we came to Amsterdam and really recommend it.
We are now all checked in at the Hilton Amsterdam. It is raining here also (just like last October, yes, Anya, you told us it always rains this time of year.) We are going to stay in the hotel tonight for dinner as two different places say they have mussels, and what’s not to like about that. Tomorrow, hopefully, the weather will be better and we can walk over to the Modern Art Museum which we missed last year. Our electric taxi is ordered for two PM and then it is on to the boat.
Lovely rainbow. I knew you had arrived safely to Amsterdam, as we were at Josh’s when your text came in to him. He was very good with the recording, and I may have more business for him.
While you are flitting around Europe, our country has notably circled the drain, and then gone down it. Hard to be hopeful in these strange times.
Miss you two!! Now we are thinking of where to go for our big birthdays and big anniversary. I am suggesting Morocco, Spain and a stopover in Turkey. We shall see!
much love to you both,
