Today we (Alan, Jim, Rod and I) drove to Cremona, Lombardy to see the Stradivarius Museum. It was a multimedia, very modern museum with many visual displays and a fine collection of Stradivarius violins. On the way we went through the town of Carrara, famous for its marble including some used by Michelangelo. What looks like snow is actually the marble quarry. The countryside on the way through the mountains is beautiful.

We toured the museum on our own. Here are some inside shots:

We had a very good lunch at Cafe Flora in Cremona. After another three hour ride, we were back at our hotel. Alan and I had a late very delicious diner at da Nonna Clara around the corner from our hotel.

Tomorrow Alan, Rod, and Jim are getting haircuts and then it is off to explore Pisa. Until then good night.
