Boppin’ in the Buenos Aires Burbs
This morning we were still in Buenos Aires and had scheduled an excursion that went to Tigre City, a northern suburb of Buenos Aires. Tigre City is on the delta of five rivers and our excursion took us on a boat ride along these deltas.

First we had the pleasure of participating in Buenos Aires rush hour, which, since we were going out of the city was not too bad. On the way back, the northbound traffic was bumper to bumper because of the upcoming Christmas holiday, which in Argentina is celebrated both on Christmas Eve and on Christmas. It was very interesting to get out of the city and into the surrounding area. The river “cruise” was very calming and there are some huge homes along the river as well as museums, marinas, and businesses.

We then drove into San Isidro, which is another suburb of Buenos Aires, an older area with cobblestone streets and stopped for a visit at San Isidro Cathedral.

Back to the ship where we ordered sandwiches from room service and then took two very long naps.
The ship was scheduled to leave for Patagonia late this afternoon. It was raining but here is the view from our balcony.

We cast off around 7 and had some spetacular views of Buenos Aires as we moved away.

We had dinner in the dining room tonight and enjoyed it thoroughly especially the views from the windows.

Dinner was excellent.

The next three days are sea days so there may or may not be much to report. We will see.
