We got up and had breakfast and coffee and set out for our cooking lesson.  We walked past the swank Kempinski-Corvinus Hotel with its Nobu Restaurant, passing through Elizabeth Park with some hard court soccer and a Ferris Wheel, and along Sas Utca to Chef Parade Cooking School for our Cooking Budapest class.

We were greeted in Hungarian and possibly told to wait.  Silvia came in with one more student after a few minutes and we had some snacks and a drink, we tried the Unicum which was similar to herbal digestifs we had in Prague and Cologne. Then we got down to cooking.  We made a potato and sausage soup, chicken paprikash, spätzle, and some dessert pancakes with farmer’s cheese or apricot jam. Then we ate and drank.

After walking home, I took a nap. We had brought leftovers home but made eggs with sausage and cheese for dinner.  I (Alan) did go out for a coffee earlier and to get something sweet for breakfast and also scouted out the location of a concert I want attend on Sunday.

Tomorrow we are driving out into the country to see where Alan’s grandparents started, in Poroszló.
